Minneapolis police said officers responded to a report of a stabbing around 7:45 p.m. in a park area near Fourth Avenue North and Van White Memorial Boulevard. When they arrived, officers found Namhani suffering from a stab wound and not breathing.

Officers attempted lifesaving measures and Namhani was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police said an initial investigation indicated a physical altercation between two acquaintances led to the stabbing.
