An 18-year-old made an emergency landing on Lake Winona Friday evening after his plane lost power.

According to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, Maxwell David Guderian of Minnetonka was performing touch-and-go landings at the Alexandria Airport when his single-engine plane lost power.

Guderian conducted an emergency landing into the lake around 7 p.m. He was uninjured and able to exit the plane safely. When the sheriff's office arrived, Guderian was standing on the roof of the aircraft.

No one else was in the plane.

The Federal Aviation Administration will investigate the landing.
