17-year-old bicyclist hit, killed in Wright County crash

A 17-year-old bicyclist was hit and killed in a crash involving one vehicle Wednesday night.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the crash occurred at about 9:49 p.m. in Monticello Township.

The bicyclist was traveling northbound in the left lane of Highway 25 near Kjellberg Court when the driver of a Dodge Avenger, also traveling northbound in the left lane, struck the bicyclist. 

The bicyclist, identified as Ian Lee Rogers, from Monticello, was pronounced dead at the scene. The State Patrol reports he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.

The 25-year-old driver of the Avenger was not hurt.

The incident remains under investigation.
