A 16-year-old has been charged in connection to a shooting that occurred in St. Paul near Allianz Field Sunday, according to court records.

The teen faces two counts of second-degree assault, a juvenile petition states.

According to the court document, St. Paul police officers who were working security for the Minnesota United soccer match heard gunshots coming from the area of Pascal Street and University Avenue.

When officers arrived, they found two people who had suffered gunshot wounds. One of the people to suffer a gunshot wound was the 16-year-old charged in the petition. Police identified the second man as a 24-year-old.

On his way to the hospital, the 16-year-old told authorities he had been riding his bike through a parking lot when he heard a number of gunshots from an unknown direction. The teen said he felt a shot hit him in the lower back.

Officers later spoke with the owner of a nearby business who said he possibly had video footage of the incident.

The petition states the video footage showed there were two shooters. According to the petition, the video showed a suspect with a gun fire at two people on bikes. That suspect then fled on foot.

The video then showed the 16-year-old get off his bike, go behind a dumpster, pull what appeared to be a gun from his pocket and shoot six times into the direction where a group was standing, according to the petition.
