A 16-year-old died in a single-vehicle crash Monday afternoon in New Ulm.

The crash was reported to the Brown County Sheriff's Office around 3:06 p.m. near the intersection of Highland Avenue and Airport Road, according to a news release from the New Ulm Police Department.

Broden Johnson, 16, of New Ulm, was driving a 1995 Chevrolet pickup eastbound on Airport Road. Kevin Vo, 16, of New Ulm, was a passenger inside the vehicle, and Jackson Bieraugel, 16, of New Ulm was riding in the rear bed of the truck, according to the release.

The police report said Johnson lost control of the pickup on the road's gravel surface, and the vehicle flipped over, pinning Bieraugel underneath.

Bieraugel was pronounced dead at the scene. Johnson and Vo were wearing seat belts and did not report any injuries.
