One of the three men charged in connection to the death of a woman found beaten and shot in a Wright County park in June 2016 pleaded guilty Tuesday to a count of second-degree murder.

Twenty-two-year-old Shawn Benson, of Maple Lake, was convicted Tuesday and is scheduled to be sentenced May 29.

According to the criminal complaint, the Wright County Sheriff's Office was called about a body in the park at 8:09 a.m. on June 1, 2016. Deputies found 19-year-old Cheyenne Clough lying face-down near the park entrance with "visible head trauma."

Witnesses near the park said they heard possible gunshots and the sound of a woman screaming around 3 a.m. that morning. At North Memorial Medical Center, medical workers found Clough also had four gunshot wounds to her left shoulder, neck and back of the head.
Two others have been charged in connection to Clough's death.

Justin Michael Jensen, 30, also of Maple Lake, pleaded guilty last week to a count of second-degree aiding and abetting murder and is scheduled to be sentenced May 31.

Edward Victor Zelko, of Buffalo, has also been charged with aiding and abetting, but has not yet entered a plea. He is due back in court June 1.
