1 man dead near Stone Arch Bridge after report of shooting

One man is dead after an apparent shooting near the Stone Arch Bridge Saturday night.

According to a release from the Minneapolis police, police responded to a report of a shooting on the 600 block of Main Street Southeast at 10:13 p.m.


When officers arrived they located a man believed to be in his 30s gravely injured with what appeared to be a gunshot wound. 

Medical aid was provided and the victim was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center where he died shortly after arrival. 

Minneapolis police say no matter where you are, always stay alert. 

"Keep your eyes open, know what is going on around you, that's incredibly important,"John Elder with the Minneapolis Police Department said. "I don't care if you're in Mayberry or you're in downtown Minneapolis or St. Paul." 

No one is currently in custody for what is the 40th homicide in Minneapolis this year.
