Man Identified in North Minneapolis Shooting

Police say a man was killed in North Minneapolis Thursday evening.

According to the release, officers from the Minneapolis Police Department's Fourth Precinct responded to a report of a shooting on the 1000 block of Morgan Avenue North at around 8:11 p.m. Officers located a male victim without a pulse and performed CPR until they were relieved by fire and EMS crews.

The victim, identified as Lonzo Allen Washington, 28, from Minneapolis, died at the scene from a gunshot wound to the chest, according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner. The preliminary investigation has indicated the suspect and victim were known to each other. 

Police are ruling this a homicide.
