One person is in critical condition after house fire in north Minneapolis, according to Assistant Chief Bryan Tyner.

Tyner said firefighters were called shortly after 1 p.m. Tuesday to the 3600 block of Dupont Ave. N on reports of a fire. The fire was in an upstairs bedroom of the home.


Tyner said two residents were in the home at the time of the fire. One was able to escape safely, the other was brought out of the house by firefighters. The victim was taken to an area hospital and is in critical condition.

The identity of the individuals was not released.
