1 Dead Following Shooting in St. Paul

Authorities said one person is dead following a shooting in an east St. Paul neighborhood Friday night.

According to a release from the St. Paul Police Department, officers were called at about 5:45 p.m. Friday to the 1900 block of Cottage Avenue on reports of a shooting.


Upon arrival, officers located an adult female with an apparent gunshot wound. Paramedics responded and pronounced the victim dead on scene.

Several potential witnesses to this incident were brought to police headquarters to be interviewed.One adult male has been arrested, the release said.

Investigators will be working with the Ramsey County Medical Examiner to positively identify the victim and determine her exact cause of death.
