1 dead after shooting in Minneapolis, no suspects in custody

A man died Sunday morning in Minneapolis after a shooting led him to be in critical condition.

According to the Minneapolis Police Department, at 2:23 a.m., officers responded to the 4300 block of 46th Avenue South on a report of a person shot.

Once officers arrived on the scene, they located a man believed to be in his 30s in critical condition inside a building. The victim was suffering from a gunshot wound.

Preliminary information indicated that a dispute occurred and escalated into a shooting. The suspect fled before officers’ arrival.

Due to the seriousness of the victim’s injuries, homicide detectives were sent to the scene to start an investigation. The Minneapolis Police Department Crime Lab responded to process the scene and collect evidence.

During this investigation, investigators were notified from the hospital that the victim in this case died.

The Medical Examiner will release the identity, along with the nature and cause of death, in the coming days.
