A 16-year-old girl was shoved off a bridge in Washington state by a friend into water 60 feet below after telling her friends she was too scared to jump, according to ABC News.

Jordan Holgerson was badly hurt from the fall, puncturing her lungs and breaking five ribs.

"I think I might've fainted mid-air because I don't really remember the fall, but then I remember falling into the water," Holgerson said. "I was trying to swim back to the rocks, but then I apparently was drowning."

Her doctors are saying she is very fortunate, as she is recovering in the hospital.

"This could have been horrible," said Dr. MaryClare Sarff, a Trauma Doctor in Vancouver. "She could have died. When you fall three times your height, 50 percent of people will die. That's usually about 25 feet."

The teen's mother says she has a long road to recovery and is asking the woman who pushed her to come forward.
