Authorities in Texas searched for a man who they believe shot into an SUV outside a church, eventually finding the suspect dead in a hotel room.

The shooting happened at a Catholic church about 28 miles northwest of Houston, in Cypress.


According to authorities, the man killed his estranged wife and injured his daughter, who was in critical condition at a nearby hospital.

Officials said the incident appeared to have stemmed from a domestic dispute.

The suspect was located in a hotel. When authorities gained entrance to the room in which the man was barricaded, they discovered he was deceased.

Authorities said no one inside the church was hurt.
