Dr. Anthony Fauci told Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry on Thursday that the United States will not be able to get "back to some degree of normality" until it starts seeing a decline in confirmed coronavirus cases.

"We've seen that in China. They went up and down. They're starting to get back to some normal life," Fauci said. "They're on the other end of the curve."

Curry teamed up with Fauci for a question-and-answer discussion about the coronavirus.

Curry, a two-time NBA MVP, hosted the chat on his Instagram account Thursday — @StephenCurry30. Fauci is the Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and part of the White House coronavirus task force.

For most people, the new coronavirus causes mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough that clear up in two to three weeks. For some, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness, including pneumonia and death.
