VIDEO: Rescue underway after trench collapse in North Carolina

A rescue was underway Wednesday after a trench collapsed in Raleigh, North Carolina. 

According to ABC affiliate WTVD-TV, the collapse happened near the Brier Creek area. 


A WTVD crew captured aerial video of the scene, which showed multiple fire trucks and dozens of firefighters assisting in the rescue.

According to WTVD, the Durham Fire Department asked drivers to avoid the roads near the site.
