How to help support the Australian wildfires relief effort

The wildfires in Australia have destroyed millions of acres of land, killed at least two dozen people so far and left thousands more people and animals in danger.

The overwhelming images of the land under siege have led to support from people around the world.

Social media has played a big role in corralling that help, with celebrities and influencers sharing how they are donating.

Singer Pink announced on Instagram she is donating $500,000 to wildfire relief efforts.

I am totally devastated watching what is happening in Australia right now with the horrific bushfires. I am pledging a donation of $500,000 directly to the local fire services that are battling so hard on the frontlines. My heart goes out to our friends and family in Oz ??

Australian natives Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman also announced a joint $500,000 donation, while sharing other resources to help.

Donations as of Thursday have topped the $100 million mark after mining magnate Andrew Forrest announced he was tipping in $70 million in donations for bushfire relief from his Mindaroo Foundation.

Elton John and Chris Hemsworth also are donating $1 million each towards the cause. A full list of donations have come from Metallica, Kylie Jenner, and more.
