A picture perfect proposal at the top of the Sandia Peak Tram in Albuquerque, New Mexico, turned into quite the story for the person behind the lens.

Hubbard-owned KOB reports Jaime Hart and Jayce Flauding met a couple from California while riding the tram, but it was Jaime's grandfather, John Hart, who first started talking to the pair.

"He introduced me to his girlfriend and at that point I said, 'Wow, hey, this would be a great chance for you to propose to your girlfriend and put a big smile on her face,' and unbeknownst to me, that was the plan," John Hart said.

After what felt like a long ride up the mountain, a very nervous soon-to-be groom popped the question.

Jayce was tasked with recording the proposal for the couple, so he handed his phone John so he could also capture the moment. But John didn't flip the camera, so instead of capturing the proposal, he captured his own reaction.

"I thought I could handle this. Well unbeknownst to me, I'm taping myself," Hart said.
