UPDATE: Severe weather warnings, watches issued for parts of Minnesota

Tornado warnings and watches cropped up around southern Minnesota on Saturday evening as storms moved across the state.

According to the National Weather Service, a tornado warning was in effect until 10:45 p.m. for parts of Brown County.

A tornado watch was in effect for the southeastern corner of Minnesota until 9 p.m. The affected area includes Cottonwood, Jackson, Lincoln, Lyon, Murray, Nobles, Pipestone and Rock counties.

Meanwhile, a severe thunderstorm watch is in effect through 11 p.m. for the following counties in south-central Minnesota: Blue Earth, Brown, Carver, Faribault, Freeborn, Le Sueur, Martin, McLeod, Nicollet, Redwood, Renville, Rice, Scott, Sibley, Steele, Waseca and Watonwan.

Weather advisories were issued earlier in the day in the Twin Cities area and western Wisconsin after previously having a tornado watch and some severe thunderstorm warnings declared earlier Saturday.

According to the National Weather Service, multiple counties in Minnesota and western Wisconsin were under the weather advisory. 

A tornado warning was also issued for multiple counties as well. 

The NWS says a couple of tornadoes could be possible, along with lime-sized hail. Wind gusts are expected to reach 90 miles per hour in some spots on Saturday. Some areas of the state have reported baseball-sized hail. 

A second round of storms are expected to move from South Dakota and approach the Twin Cities area between 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Wisconsin by 9 p.m.

A thunderstorm warning were also active for some counties in Minnesota as well.  

Other weather advisories were issued earlier Saturday.
