A mixture of rain and snow is expected on Thursday with a thunderstorm later in the afternoon, according to KSTP Meteorologist Jonathan Yuhas.

Yuhas stated Thursday will be slightly warmer and have some thunderstorms in the Twin Cities, parts of southern Minnesota and western Wisconsin.

The mix of snow and rain is expected to start at 8 a.m. and then become all rain by 12 p.m., said Yuhas.

Heavy snow is expected to happen in northern Minnesota, with 4 to 8 inches expected in Fargo, Brainerd and Duluth.

Friday is expected to be foggy with a light freezing mist in the morning then partly cloudy into the afternoon. The high is expected to be 36 degrees with a low of 16 degrees.

Temperatures all week and next week is expected to be running well below the average of mid-50s and instead be in the 30s for the highs.
