Dangerously hot weather conditions have forced an excessive heat watch alert in Minnesota.

The National Weather Service (NWS) reports heat index values of up to 105 degrees are possible Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon.

The alert is for portions of central, east central, south central, southwest and west central Minnesota.

Meanwhile, a wildfire warning the NWS issued for parts of north-central and northeast Minnesota has expired.
