Wild, Fiala avoid arbitration with 1-year deal

The Minnesota Wild and forward Kevin Fiala have avoided arbitration and agreed to a new one-year contract.

KSTP Sports confirmed the deal is worth $5.1 million. An arbitration hearing was set for Tuesday.

Last season, the winger totaled 40 points, with 20 goals and 20 assists. He added another goal and assist in the playoffs.

Over his career, Fiala has scored 91 goals and notched 107 assists in 337 regular-season games. In 29 playoff games, he’s registered nine goals and three assists.

Fiala will be a restricted free agent again next offseason.
