Twins select outfielder Alerick Soularie in 2nd round of MLB Draft

The Minnesota Twins selected University of Tennessee outfielder Alerick Soularie in the second round of the MLB on Thursday night.

Soularie, the 59th overall pick in the draft, hit .357 in 54 games in 2019 and was off to a strong start in 2020 with 5 home runs in 60 at-bats before the coronavirus pandemic ended the college baseball season.

In the fourth round, the Twins drafted right-handed pitcher Marco Raya of United South High School in Laredo, Texas.

The Twins finished the five-round draft by taking Kalai’i Rosario with the 158th overall pick. Rosario is an outfielder from Waiakea High School in Hawaii.
