David Kim has scouted for the Twins since 2000. He lives in Goyang City, about 10 miles outside Seoul, South Korea.

While he can’t physically attend games yet, he does have the Korean Baseball Organization to scout.

We talked to Kim about the return of baseball in his home country, and more.

Kim typically works KBO and Japanese league games, providing reports to the Twins’ front office on which players are major-league worthy.

The KBO is one of the world’s first major professional sports competitions to return to action amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The organization has ordered that all players and coaches are screened for signs of fever before they enter the stadium. Players are banned from high-fiving team-mates or signing autographs, while chewing tobacco is prohibited to prevent spitting and masks and latex gloves are required at training facilities.

Umpires and first and third-base coaches must also wear protective masks.
