In a corresponding move, the team activated relief pitcher Trevor Megill from the COVID list, on which he was placed Saturday.

Additionally, Minnesota outrighted pitcher Dereck Rodríguez from the 40-man roster. He was optioned to Triple-A St. Paul on Sunday after making one relief appearance for the Twins.

After losing four of five games to Cleveland over the weekend, the Twins entered Tuesday seven games back of the Guardians in the AL Central race with 15 games left to play.
