Twins announce 60-man roster

The Minnesota Twins on Monday announced its 60-man summer camp roster.

In addition to many of the well-known players, the group includes several top prospects like Royce Lewis and Alex Kirilloff.

The players on the 60-man roster are the players allowed to play for the team in the 2020 season. But the roster can be changed.

Teams will be allowed to have up to 30 players on their Opening Day rosters with a minimum of 25. After two weeks, rosters will be trimmed to 28 and then to 26 two weeks after that.

Those not on the active major league roster but on the 60-man roster will report to an alternate training site to continue to work out and train during the season while remaining eligible to join the team at any point during the season. For the Twins, they have talked to the Saints about using CHS Field.

Rosters can be changed throughout the year by usual methods, such as trades, waiver claims, etc.

Opening Day has been set for either July 23 or July 24, with the league hoping for a schedule of 60 games in the regular season.
