Monday’s Twins-Athletics game postponed

Monday’s scheduled game between the Minnesota Twins and Oakland Athletics at Oakland Coliseum has been postponed to allow for continued COVID-19 testing and contact tracing involving members of the Twins organization.

A traditional doubleheader has tentatively been scheduled for 5:30 p.m. (central) on Tuesday. This could be altered based on further test results.

Wednesday morning, the Minnesota Twins placed shortstop Andrelton Simmons on the COVID-19 Injured List.

Twins manager Rocco Baldelli received a false positive result on Thursday but he said on Friday that another unnamed member of the organization within their traveling party did test positive.

Then on Saturday night, Baldelli said that outfielder Kyle Garlick and another unnamed player had also tested positive.
