Minnesota United, Allianz Life donate $75K to support Midway, Union Park area residents

Minnesota United and Allianz Life are partnering to donate $75,000 to the Neighbors United Funding Collaborative (NUFC) to support Midway and Union Park area residents, businesses and organizations amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

NUFC was created in 2016 to create a resource for the neighborhood surrounding Allianz Field to draw from for improving and strengthening the area. It provides funding to residents, local businesses and community organizations focusing on economic development, placemaking, public art, preventing displacement and preserving the community.

In addition to the donation to NUFC, Allianz Life is matching all financial contributions to Keystone Community Services up to $50,000 to help provide access to healthy food for those living in St. Paul and the Midway neighborhood. Keystone helps support and nourish residents through various services, including food shelves, Foodmobile, Meals on Wheels, crisis services and other food programs.

"We are very appreciative of the large donation made by Allianz and Minnesota United," Brandon Long, executive director Union Park District Council, said in a statement. "While these funds will support a variety of efforts in the community for years to come, we are spending our first year rapidly mobilizing to assist area businesses weather this pandemic. With this latest donation we are now able to make emergency relief funds available to businesses in the area around the stadium."
