Major League Soccer extends season postponement

Major League Soccer announced Thursday it would extend its season’s postponement due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a statement, the league said it is focused on playing the entire 2020 season and is evaluating all its options.

The league said it could push the season back and have matches for the MLS Cup in December.

"Throughout this process, MLS will continue to prioritize the safety of our fans, players, employees and partners and to coordinate with federal and local public health authorities as well as other sporting organizations," the league said in a statement.
