Lynx sign 2 guards, add 3 more players on hardship deals

The Minnesota Lynx have made another series of roster moves.

Friday, the team announced the signing of guards Moriah Jefferson and Evina Westbrook, as well as the additions of forward Nikolina Milić, center Hannah Sjerven and guard Yvonne Turner on hardship contracts.

Jefferson has played for Dallas, Las Vegas and San Antonio since San Antonio selected her out of the University of Connecticut in the 2016 WNBA Draft. She played in 29 games last year for Dallas, averaging 5.4 points, 2 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 17.2 minutes per game.

Westbrook was picked 21st overall by the Seattle Storm in the 2022 WNBA Draft, also out of UConn.

Milić, Sjerven and Turner rejoin the Lynx after spending the preseason with the team.

Milić also played in all three Lynx games this season, totaling 9 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks and a steal.

Sjerven, a Rogers, Minn. native, was Minnesota’s pick at No. 28 overall in the 2022 WNBA Draft.

Turner has totaled 24 points, 9 rebounds, 10 assists and 2 steals in three games for the Lynx this season.

The organization says all five of the players will be ready for Saturday’s game vs. Chicago.
