Source: Lynx finalizing contract with multi-time All-Star Angel McCoughtry

A source with direct knowledge tells KSTP Sports that the Minnesota Lynx are close to finalizing a free agent contract with multi-time All-Star and Olympian Angel McCoughtry.

McCoughtry can take the place of Napheesa Collier, who is expected to miss most or all of the 2022 season. She is due in May.

McCoughtry, 35, has played 12-years in the WNBA for Atlanta and Las Vegas. She lost to the Lynx in the 2011 and 2013 Finals. She’s averaged 18.7 points and 5.0 rebounds per game in her career. She missed the 2021 season after suffering a right knee injury in the preseason.

Teams can’t announce free agent deals until Feb. 1.
