Gophers get commitment from ex-Wisconsin wide receiver

Two days after beating Wisconsin to keep Paul Bunyan’s Axe, the University of Minnesota has gotten a commitment from a former Badgers wide receiver.

Monday, Markus Allen announced his commitment to the Gophers on social media.

Allen, a 6-foot-1, four-star recruit out of Ohio, per 247 Sports, committed to Wisconsin in November 2020 and joined the program for the 2021 season. He redshirted that season but appeared in three games, tallying just three catches for 65 yards and one carry for four yards.

This season, Allen played in six games, recording seven catches for 91 yards and a touchdown, before opting to enter the transfer portal in October.

Now, he’s headed to Minnesota with three years of eligibility left.
