Gophers complete sweep with 6-4 win at Penn State

The Gophers men’s hockey team rallied from a three-goal deficit to beat Penn State 6-4 Saturday night at Pegula Ice Arena.

Penn State jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first period, but the Gophers outscored the Nittany Lions 6-1 over the final 40 minutes.

Ben Meyers returned from the Olympics and notched three assists for Minnesota. Meyers was one of six Gophers with a multi-point night. Jackson Lacombe scored the eventual game-winner.

After a slow start in the first, Gophers goalie Justen Close settled down and finished with 23 saves.

The Gophers take a six-game winning streak into their final series of the season next weekend against Wisconsin at 3M Arena at Mariucci.
