Gopher baseball set for start of season

The Minnesota Gopher baseball team starts the season on February 18 at Florida Atlantic in Boca Raton. KSTP Sports caught up with head coach John Anderson and senior outfielder Easton Bertrand to discuss the upcoming season.

Anderson is entering his 41st season as the Gopher baseball head coach. He spoke about his excitement level heading into the season, how different this year will be compared to last season, all the newcomers and transfers who joined the team in the offseason, some of the transfers who stick out to him, what he sees in freshman Brady Counsell, and if he can believe he has been the head coach for 41 years.

Bertrand discussed the chemistry of the team, how he sees the team heading into the season, what he has worked on in his game, his goals for the season, how the Gophers stack up in the Big Ten Conference, and how he works on his outfield skills in the indoor practice facility.
