Girls State Hoops: White Bear Lake advances in 35-34 4A Quarterfinal squeaker vs Rosemount

Lauren Eckerle’s steal-and-score with three minutes to go gave Class 4A 5-seed White Bear Lake a lead they’d never surrender in a 35-34 win over 4-seed Rosemount on Wednesday at Williams Arena.

Eckerle’s theft at midcourt and ensuing layup put the Bears up 34-31 in a game where every single point counted.

Abigail O’Brien led White Bear with nine points. The Bears only hit ten field goals in the game – 10-34 FG, 5-12 threes – but played strong defense to advance to Thursday’s Class AAAA State Semifinals.

White Bear Lake plays 1-seed Hopkins at 6pm on Thursday at Williams Arena. The game will air live on 45TV and stream at 45TV.com.
