Game 2 of Minnesota State vs. Bemidji State series postponed due to COVID-19 results

Monday’s scheduled hockey game between Minnesota State and Bemidji State has been postponed due to positive COVID-19 tests.

Minnesota State announced that it had positive COVID-19 tests in its program Monday, leading to the postponement. No make-up date has been announced at this time.

Minnesota State released the following statement:

"Minnesota State Maverick Athletic Department officials have announced that COVID-19 testing of its men’s hockey personnel has resulted in positive results that will not allow the series with Bemidji State University to be completed this afternoon. A complement of tests guided by NCAA Sports Science Institute, Minnesota Department of Health, and Western Collegiate Hockey Association Return to Competition protocols that were administered prior to Sunday’s contest between the two teams had produced no positive results prior to game time."

The teams played Sunday in Bemidji and are scheduled to play in Mankato on Friday and Saturday. The status of those games remains unclear, pending the outcome of contact tracing.
