Former Orono high school star Jon Leuer announced his retirement from the NBA. He played for five teams over eight seasons.
Our Darren ‘Doogie’ Wolfson talked to Leuer on Tuesday afternoon about his decision, which was made because of the toll on his body. Leuer has battled knee, ankle, and shoulder injuries the last few years, and will still need to eventually undergo another surgery on his shoulder.
Leuer averaged 6.4 points and 3.8 rebounds in just under 16 minutes per game from 2011 to 2019. He was drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks with the 40th selection in the 2011 draft.
