Father of Gophers QB Tanner Morgan dies

The Gophers family is grieving after quarterback Tanner Morgan’s dad, Ted, died.

Morgan posted the news on social media Monday night.

"If he were here today, his message would be to not wait for tragedy to strike to grow close to God. That was his message and that’s what I’m going to carry on," Morgan said in part in his post.

In an interview with KSTP Sports about his family’s tight bond with Gophers coach P.J. Fleck, Ted said he was diagnosed with a serious brain tumor last May.

"I’ll cherish our conversations about faith, and life in general," Morgan added in his post. "He loved everyone deeply, and I’m grateful for the time we had with him. … I love you Dad."
