When Friday morning’s sun came up in St. Rose, Louisiana and New Boston, Texas, two young men opened their eyes and were thrilled to discover last night’s dreams were actually real.

Thursday night, LSU receiver Justin Jefferson and TCU cirnerback Jeff Gladney were first round draft picks of the Minnesota Vikings – taken with the 22nd and 31st overall picks respectively.
In a video chat Friday morning, one of the things Jefferson discussed was the mentorship he’s received from former Viking and NFL Hall of Famer Cris Carter.
Gladney discussed how playing in the offense-driven Big XII prepares him to be a cornerback in the National Football League. He also took on preparing for Mike Zimmer’s tutelage and his cold-weather preparedness.
