For the third straight season, and fifth in the last six, the Cretin-Derham Hall boys basketball team is in the 4A state tournament. The Raiders open up vs. 2-seed Owatonna on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Target Center.

We stopped by the Raiders’ practice on Monday and chatted with long-time coach Jerry Kline and star guard Tre Holloman.

The Raiders have lost 10-games this year, but have gotten better as the season has gone on. They upset top seed East Ridge for the section championship.

Holloman, one of the best players to ever play Minnesota high school basketball, will head to Michigan State this summer. He’ll play for legendary coach Tom Izzo. But before then, he hopes to win a state championship.

Holloman is a finalist for the Mr. Basketball Award.
