State Hockey: St. Cloud Cathedral rolls in Class A opener against Mankato East/Loyola

St. Cloud Cathedral had 11 goals from 10 different skaters giving them a commanding 11-2 victory over Mankato East-Loyola in the quarterfinals of the Class A boys hockey state tournament on Wednesday at the Xcel Energy Center.

Senior forward Jack Smith had two goals and two assists in the Crusaders victory. Collectively, St. Cloud Cathedral (24-3-1) had 48 shots on goal. Sophomore goalie Caelin Brueske had 31 saves for Mankato East-Loyola (14-14-1).
