No. 5 Breck girls hockey defeat Blake

The No. 5 (Class A) Breck Mustangs defeated the Blake Bear 2-1, Saturday afternoon at Breck School Anderson Ice Arena.


It was a tightly contested first period until Blake's Kylie Gage was able to deflect the shot of Georgia Pettygrove into the net to give the Bears a 1-0 lead with just 90 seconds left in the period. 

In the second, Breck's Dylan Berman was able to score on a rebound to make it a 1-1 tie with 3:43 left in the second period. Then, just over a minute later, Anika Fagley of Breck gave a beautiful pass to Ava Lindsay, who was able to score to give the Mustangs a 2-1 lead with 2:33 left in the second. 

Blake had numerous opportunities to tie the game in the third, but sophomore goaltender Sarah Peterson was able to stop them all and give Breck the victory.
