Mounds View beats Rosemount 3-2 to win Class 3A boys’ soccer title

Mounds View rallied from a 2-0 deficit to defeat Rosemount 3-2 in the Class 3A boys’ state soccer championship Saturday at U.S. Bank Stadium.

Rosemount jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first half with Reid Wolf scoring the opening goal in the seventh minute and then benefited on an own goal in the 24th minute.

The Mustangs came back behind two goals from Sam Hoyt and Henry Elias provided the game-winner in the 75th minute.

It is Mounds View’s first boys’ state soccer title.

In the Class 2A boys’ championship, Orono defeated the Academy of Holy Angels 1-0.

Southwest Christian (Chaska) beat St. Paul Humboldt 3-0 in the boys’ Class 1A championship.
