Hopkins girls basketball rolls past Cambridge-Isanti, moves onto semifinals

The Hopkins Royals girls basketball team defeated the Cambridge-Isanti Bluejackets 85-55 Wednesday morning in the Class 4A State Quarterfinals at Williams Arena.

Hopkins was in control of the game from the jump. Sophomore forward Maya Nnaji had a huge game. She finished with 23 points to go along with seven rebounds, three blocks and two assists. NNaji is the younger sister of Arizona Wildcats star freshman Zeke Nnaji. She holds 16 college offers, including from the Gophers.

Hopkins All-American Paige Bueckers finished with only seven points, but had a huge impact on the game by facilitating to all her teammates.

With the win, Hopkins extends its win streak to 61 games.
