Girls’ State Basketball: Becker defeats Waconia in Class 3A semifinals

Becker forced a championship rematch with DeLaSalle for the Class AAA crown with its 96-75 victory over Waconia in the semifinals Thursday at Williams Arena.

Junior guard Julia Bengtson powered the Bulldogs (28-2) with 20 points, six rebounds and six assists.

Freshman guard Maren Westin added 19 points for the Bulldog, who hope to avenge a 56-40 setback to DeLaSalle a season ago.

Sophomore Audrey Swanson paced Waconia (20-11) with 16 points.
