Cretin-Derham Hall high school is rich in tradition with its football program.  Despite the school's struggles the past couple of years, the 2021 team looks to get back to prominence.

"I told our players the difference between tradition versus trend and our players have really responded to having the desire to get this football program in the positive direction it used to be in. Many of the players' dads played for CDH when it was a powerhouse. These players are putting in the time and effort to get it back to once we once were," says Raiders head coach Chuck Miesbauer.

Last year the players weren't able to get any traction due to an odd season within the pandemic. The senior class isn't taking anything for granted this year.

"We're chomping at the bit to start. I'm so excited I'm counting down the days until our first game," says Raiders senior running back Will Haider.

"We've waited a long time to redeem ourselves and show everyone what our football team is truly about. I couldn't be more proud of our team and the effort everyone has put in as we head into the beginning of our season," says Raiders senior defensive end and fullback Josh Flaminio.

CDH made a big change this season moving down from Class 6A to 5A due to enrollment numbers going down.

Cretin-Derham Hall will host Spring Lake Park on Thursday, September 2nd. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
