Carrington made an unofficial visit to the U in June, then met with Johnson and his staff on an official visit this week before announcing his verbal commitment in a social media post at high noon on Wednesday.

Carrington is Minnesota's first 2022 commitment.

Florida and Colorado were hoping to get Carrington in for visits. But this week's experience for him and his mom with the Gophers' staff was enough to seal the deal.
