3-time defending champ Edina beats Burnsville in state quarterfinals

Edina used three first period goals to beat Burnsville 4-0 Thursday night in the Class 2A quarterfinals of the Girls' State Hockey Tournament at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.

The top-seeded Hornets have only lost once all season and have won three consectutive state championships.

Edina will play the winner of the Maple Grove vs. Hill-Murray game in the semifinals on Friday night.
