The #1 Wayzata Trojans volleyball team defeated the #7 Minnetonka Skippers three sets to two Tuesday evening at Wayzata High School.

Minnetonka came out strong and took the first set 25-23. But, Wayzata bounced back and took the next two sets 25-17 and 25-22.

However, the Skippers would not quit. Minnetonka took an 18-11 fourth set lead. The Trojans fought back to make it close, but Minnetonka won the set 25-20, forcing a fifth set.

In the deciding set, Wayzata was too much for Minnetonka. Trojan junior Emma Goerger had the match-winning block for Wayzata, giving them a 15-9 fifth set victory, and a 3-2 match win.
