Woman arrested for arson in connection to Crow Wing County house fire

A 34-year-old woman has been arrested in connection to a house fire in Crow Wing County.

According to the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to a house fire on the 18000 block of Elk Street in Trommald at 8:20 p.m. Tuesday. Crosby and Ironton firefighters extinguished the flames and noted that the fire was suspicious.

Several witnesses were treated for smoke inhalation and then indicated that a resident of the home had made statements about starting the house on fire.

The sheriff’s office said that suspect wasn’t at the scene when authorities arrived but she was located at a residence in Deerwood a short time later. Based on evidence and information from witnesses, authorities arrested her for first-degree arson and transported her to Crow Wing County Jail.

The sheriff’s office didn’t immediately identify her.
