Wisconsin reports 1 coronavirus death, 1,606 new cases on Sunday

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services reported 1,606 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, bringing the state’s total to 521,794 since the start of the pandemic.

State health officials also reported one new death from the virus — just one day after Wisconsin tallied a single-day high of 128. A total of 5,451 people have died from COVID-19 in Wisconsin.

A total of 213,056 vaccines have been administered in Wisconsin out of 373,100 doses shipped, and 30,805 residents have completed the COVID-19 vaccination series, according to DHS data.

Another 50 people were admitted to the hospital with COVID-19 complications. So far 23,076 patients have required hospitalization.

So far 490,043 people have recovered or are recovering from COVID-19 infections, while 26,139 cases remain active.
